Re: “The Rant

Tim- I am so sorry that Presidents' Day made you feel suicidal. What do you expect if you believe that all would be well after the previous administration was out of office. And as for George W keeping a low profile; unlike "DeWitt" Clinton; that seems to me to be the way a true gentleman behaves after his successor succeeds to his job; so as not to be perceived as a critic. And as for for W having trouble raising money for his library; building a monument to eight hard years of work does not occur overnight. Have you seen the beautiful Clinton Center in Arkansas? Not too many were there when we went there for lunch after paying our $5.00 to get in and getting frisked by security. The food was ample but it was cold. My first encounter with a Presidential Archive was in Hyde Park, New York at FDR's gravesite. They did not build monuments to former Presidents then; they did not need too because in those days if you could not afford to run for President with your own and your personal friends' money you did not. That is when Presidents cowtowed to no one. How things have changed, eh, Tim. How they have changed. Get over the old Mississip to Little Rock and you might be awestruck at the Clinton Center and find that life is really worth living again. What do you plan to write about on July 4th??? About blowing yourself up with fireworks; no doubt. Nice Column; I did not know that Obama had to take his Oath of Office twice. How so? Regards, Jerry Rekosh.
