The tickets were your vote. If you bought ten tickets you could vote ten times. Not a real indicator, and as candidates' staff bought tickets well..... People came and ate, met the candidates, and then most went home to watch the game before they spoke. I stayed, but wanted to hear them and talk to them before I voted. I would have cast "undecided" anyway because I wanted to corner them and ask "Are you going to continue to be a Democrat after you're elected?" and "What is your opinion about the public option?" among other questions.
I, for one, am tired of being told "Vote for me" and then the candidate comes out against my interests as Creigh Deeds did in Virginia. At another meeting, a local Democrat, who is planning to run to try to take his seat back, in a question and answer session, stated he was against a public option. Then don't expect me to support you!
