Not sure banning the dropping off is the answer. Why don't they just ban loitering? Not sure what else kids age 14-18 are supposed to do in this town if they can't meet their friends for a movie.

I disagree. I don't think this is a drinking/ non-drinking question; I think this is a question of host/ guest etiquette.

I think a guest at a party has to respect the host's home. If you were going to a party of all diabetics, would you bring chocolate & sit and eat it in front of them just because you can't have a good time without a little sugar fix?

We don't drink, and when we entertain at home, we always tell people to feel free to bring their own. If the host doesn't offer that up it's just rude to drink in front of people that you KNOW may be uncomfortable with it.

Now if you want to have a party at YOUR house, and invite your AA friends, then I don't think it's inappropriate to serve/ drink alcohol in front of them.
