Ed McAteer, an architect of the Moral Majority who serves as president of the Memphis-based Religious Roundtable, has a bone to pick with President George W. Bush's "roadmap" to peace between Israel and Palestinians. "It's a road block," McAteer has been quoted as saying. "Every grain of sand in that piece of real estate backed up by the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, and the Mediterranean belongs to the Jewish people because God gave it to them." While God could not be reached for comment, his people did allow that, once the Holy Land is fully returned to the Jews, the homelandless Palestinians would be allowed to estab;ish casinos in and around their most sacred shrines.
