Let It Snow

This Saturday at the Children's Museum of Memphis, area children will be learning the cold facts of life. Specifically, they'll be studying snow -- the focus of this month's Lab Brats, an educational program put on by the museum that fosters scientific curiosity in kids ages 6 to 9.

"They'll study the shape of snowflakes and the temperature. Why each snowflake is different. What they're made of. Why we have snowflakes," explains Janie Paraham of the Children's Museum. "It's the science of snow."

And because Lab Brats is hands-on, the kids will be working with an artificial snow that turns into snowflakes. The session is being led by frequent Lab Brats participant Bonnie Jamerson, principal of Harding Academy.

Reservations are required, and each child must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Lab Brats. 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17th, at the Children's Museum of Memphis, 2525 Central Avenue (458-2678), $3 members and $4 nonmembers
