Re: “Meet the New Guy: Josh Selby

He still would make a backup center than Thabust.

Re: “L.A. Times Reporting Randolph Deal Done

You point out that Randolph gets his numbers with poor shot selection. Given this and his troubled past and coming to Memphis for redemption story, is he basically the big man version of Bonzi Wells?

Wells did give us a couple of good years though, but it took the right coach... can we bring back Hubie Brown?

Re: “The Draft Post

You do realize that we have MARC Gasol, right? We traded Pau to the Lakers. He won a title this year. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just suffered through a case of mistaken identity since obviously no one with an ounce of sense would ever think of the 4 being the natural position for MARC Gasol.

Re: “The Draft Post

Can we legally ban Heisley from setting foot again in the city?

Re: “The Draft Post

Seriously, first I lose the pop icon of my generation, and then the team that is my heart and soul makes the one move that every local person begged them to not make. Hey Heisley, did ever occur to you that we already have a pure center in Marc Gasol that the FANS LOVE! Well, two good things:

1) a U of M player went in the top 4 defying early season expectations, and

2) At least Rubio's agent is now looking like an absolute idiot. Fegan just put Rubio in the worst condition possible: He just cost his client (whose locked into a multimillion buyout and can no longer return to his old team) millions as Rubio fell from 2 to 5 for nothing as he's still not in his desired location. And how are the marketing opportunities for Spanish speakers in Minnesota compared to Memphis? Oh, and he just went to a team that used the very next pick to draft another point guard. How are those playing time prospects versus Memphis looking right now? After the Yi debacle, do you think Fegan will ever get another international client?

Re: “The Draft Post

WTF! Why did The Grizzlies just draft the one player that was a consensus "not wanted by Memphians?" Is this a joke?

Re: “Link Roundup

Let's stop being the league's lap dog. Who cares where Rubio wants to play? If we're going to do that, why even have a draft? Let's see, Rubio can't go back to his current team (he's on the out with his team's management), and he can't afford the buyout playing anywhere but the NBA so doesn't that give us the upper hand?

Let's try being heavy handed for once: If Rubio is the best player available, we take him. If he doesn't want to play his best because he's in Memphis, we let him know that we will kill his career by refusing to trade him and burying him on the bench for the rest of his rookie contract!

We have such a bad reputation for making bad trades that other GM's are salivating figuring out how little they can offer us. Hey the Laker's want to trade with us AGAIN. For Rubio, they'll give us Josh Powell, Adam Morrison, Sasha Vujacic, their next two second round picks, and cash! I can see Heisley now: "This is a great three for one deal for Memphis. This moves give us much needed depth in both the front and back courts with three talented young players. This adds interior rebounding and defensive toughness while giving us salary cap flexibility and a total of 13 second round picks over the next two seasons with which to build for the future."
