Re: “Rick Ankiel: Marvel Comics Superhero

Wouldn't pay much attention to the dumb @$$#$ at Anybody with an ounce of sports brains knows Rich hasn't been on the pitchers mound for the past three seasons.

Re: “FROM MY SEAT: A Redbird Remembered

Well said, Frank. I remember Mike much the same way as you do. Quiet. Unassuming. Going to work every day and doing his job so well we hardly even noticed he was there. Even though he only spent one season in Memphis, Mike Coolbaugh ranks as one of my all time favorite Redbirds.

Re: “A Rose, By Any Other Jersey…

The guys at must not have watched the Grizzlies debacle that was the 2007 NBA draft in which Memphis selected a POINT GUARD in Michael Conley Jr. Then again, considering how deft the Grizzlies brass has become on draft night, they probably would draft another PG just for the fun of it.

Re: “FROM MY SEAT: Getting the Shaft (Again)

Woods made $110 million last year. $9.6 million of that came from the Tour. $100 million came from sponsors...approximately $40 million from Nike. Nike has a big presence in Memphis and it would be nice to see them leverage that and influence Woods to play here once every four years. Also, Woods has publicly spoken very highly of the work done by St. Jude. If he's so impressed by the work being done there, back it up by playing in the ONLY tournament on Tour that has the corresponding charity's name in the event title.

Re: “Progress Report

The Grizzlies' future with Rudy Gay, hazy? C'mon, Chris, you've gotta be kidding. How many rookies - those that aren't named LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony - come into the league and don't struggle a bit at first? Most rookies struggle...but it's not an indication that the future of the team is "hazy". Keep in mind that Gay was the Western Conference Rookie of the Month in November and is currently ranked as the #2 rookie in the league by behind Toronto's Jorge Garbajosa and he's had that spot for most of the season.
