Re: “Everything Terrible About TV News in One Bullet Point

I'm surprised they didn't require a dance off with the Action News 5 women.

Re: “Lipscomb Talks to Cooper-Young Residents About Fairgrounds Redevelopment

I love that they are involving community organizations like Cooper-Young and the Beltline neighborhood, but somehow our neighborhood is always left out. The Edwin Circle neighborhood will be greatly affected by this plan being that we are directly across Central Ave from the Liberty Bowl. A simple drive through our neighborhood on a football weekend can confirm that. And considering every plan I have seen presented in the past 8-10 years features the retail component along the Central Ave border of the Fairgrounds, we will be taking the brunt of the traffic. I guess it's time to break out the pen and start writing letters again. I know we are a small neighborhood, but it is ridiculous that the only information we receive about this project comes from news outlets.

Re: “Bartlett Leaders Ready to Go Muni

Not saying that he doesn't want them to succeed, but you can't tell me that he can be 100% dedicated to planning that success when he is busy building his own district. There is only so much time in the day, and if pressed, something directly affecting my residents would take priority over something that would indirectly affect them.

And that's just assuming that he really is a nice guy that just wants the best for everyone. What politician isn't?

Re: “Bartlett Leaders Ready to Go Muni

Sounds like Mayor McDonald is going to have his hands full planning his municipal school system. How much quality time will that leave him to contribute to the transition team for a district that he hopes none of his constituents are forced to attend?

We should be able to replace him with someone who is dedicated to the success of the transition being planned.

Re: “Barbecue Fest: Opportunity Knocks

I wonder if he bought that sign from the downtown sign business which left flyers all over my neighborhood advertising parking/no parking signs for BBQ fest. They were quick on the draw too...found the flyer on my door the day after the announcement.

I guess they didn't realize that the people interested in making money off parking had already been doing it for years!
