Re: “The Amazing "Penetro" — Made in Memphis

Plough also made a cough drop branded "Penetro" in the late 1950s. The ad ran often on the Plough Broadcasting station WMPS (whose call letters originally stood for "Memphis Press Scimitar," but became "Memphis Plough Station" after Plough bought the license). The jingle went "Get rid of that tickle for only a nickel. Buy Penetro cough drops today." Not sure if I ever tried them as we elementary students were much more partial to Luden's wild cherry-flavored cough drops which were little more than an addictive candy for 10 cents a box.
