Re: “Three Thoughts on Tiger Football

Love Memphis, happy to be able to report I had a few beers there on a couplof occasions, and the people were wonderful…
Asor his weekd's game...Upset? Negatory….
Against Virginia, UCLA receivers - all but one with significant on-field experience - dropped nine balls, all of which should have been, and will be going forward, caught; Seven of those drops would have been good for first down’s. Additionally, the Bruin kicker missed a rare “gimme” in the first quarter. Now, had those balls been caught - of course - it’s anybody’s guess as to whether or not those would have led to scores. However, there is no question the time of possession would have been much larger in UCLA’s favor, and Virginia’s defense - clearly gassed by the fourth quarter - would have tired out even earlier.
Lastly, UCLA had two starting offensive linemen out, including starting center Jake Brendel who is high on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy.
We’ll see…..Go Bruins!
