Re: “Watch New Yorkers React to News of Elvis' Death

I know for a fact that WMC (5) is the only station that retained footage from that day.

Re: “Does Anyone Remember This TV Show?

Well, I'm bummed that no one has thought to mention the hour-long documentary I did on early Memphis television for WKNO-TV. It is called "Memphis Memoirs: When TV Came to Town" and can be obtained from the station for making a financial pledge. The show contains ALL remaining clips and images from channels 3, 5 and 13, including several of the shows mentioned here, and contemporary interviews with Wink Martindale and Trent Wood. Get it here:

Re: “Noodles Asian Bistro

The Salt and Pepper Shrimp is yummy and doesn't have a ton of noodles with it, if you're looking for something lighter!

Re: “Ostrander Award Predictions/Contest

Agree with you about Bill Andrews. He stole the show in "Sunset Boulevard," and that's not an easy show to steal.

Re: “Nineteenth Century Club Will Be Demolished

Sadly, progressivememphis is correct. It's sad to see this building go, but it's just a lone straggler that happened to survive a bit longer than all the other grand buildings that were demolished back in the 1960s and 70s. It would be great to save it, but Memphis made its priorities very clear, decades ago.

Re: “Inspiration: Turning abandoned buildings into theaters and turning landmarks into landmark productions

I stumbled across this while searching for something else, and I think it's great. I was in "Thais" also, and it was a theater experience like no other. I would love to see this subject revisited.
