Re: “Author of Heritage Protection Act Cautions City About 'Consequences'

I have traveled in every state in the country except Maine, Hawaii and Alaska. I have spent about 20 weeks in all parts of Europe too. Contrary to what the City Fathers have said - Statues and Monuments exist all over the country and are placed by Descendants to honor the fallen and the political leadership of the time. We in the South are proud of our Families and expect them to be respected the same way we respect yours. Your family may have marched with Martin- but mine fought with Lee! Most Confederates were drafted by their state and served with honor and dignity. We demand them to be remembered in the Public Square just like all other Men and Women who fought in other conflicts are. The removal of Monuments is a Radical measure that should not allowed in any circumstance. When a local government passes extreme law - we have the right to appeal to the State or Federal government for redress.

Re: “Mayor: Memphis Situation Different from New Orleans on Confederate Statues

It is unAmerican to remove Monuments and statues regardless of the intention ! The state of Tennessee made the right call in Memphis and I applaud the Commission ! Radical changes to our
Acknowledgement of American history and our past - warts and all - will backfire and the silent
Majority will awake and fill with a renewed resolve / This helped Trump win the election .
