Re: “The Story That Keeps on Killing

You know, I can't say that I care about an animal's life more than a human's. I can say that if I see a PERSON, not a black person because what color you are doesn't make you special, getting a beatdown from police that he doesn't deserve, I do get all up in arms about it. Unjustified police beatings, or any unjustified beatings for that matter, are not something I'm willing to tolerate. Running a dog fighting ring and kicking a dog in the head are two completely different things. One involves extended torture with an end result of death. I don't care what form of life it is, willful torture is something I can't forgive and I certainly don't consider two years on house arrest in a multi-million dollar home paying your dues in regard to such a crime. You were lucky you were born a person but, given the odds, you could have been born as anything. Be glad you weren't one of those dogs. And just to give you a heads up, something bad happening in one instance doesn't make doing something bad in another acceptable. Cops beating black people doesn't make it right for someone to torture living things. If that was the case, we'd all get off for committing crimes with a slap on the wrist because we'd have the excuse that it was ok because something bad happened to someone we identify with.
