Re: “Gay Marriage Amendment Passes

The American people, regardless of race, sex, political party, region, etc. do not want homosexual marriage. I wish the issue would go away, for a court to divisively push the issue at this point would be destructive and focus our attention away from important issues. Let us dispense with the idea that same sex marriage itself is divisive, it's not. A court pushing their agenda in the opposite direction is at best only divisive.

Re: “Ford Sr.'s "Approved Democratic Ballot"

Ford, Jr. did not lose any votes because of Jake Ford. He certainly did not lose any votes in Shelby County and in fact, he did suprisingly well in East Tennessee and the so-called "doughnut counties" surrounding Davidson. In those counties, Jake Ford was a complete non-issue. This was the "perfect storm" for Jr. and he failed. He had a weak GOP opponent, it was clearly a strong Demcocratic cycle and he received an enormous black turnout. Perhaps he can rekindle the third factor, but its far from certain the first two will ever align again anytime soon?

Re: “Gay Marriage Amendment Passes

Although I am sure our major state newspapers will disagree, perhaps now we can officially dispense with the idea that homosexual marriage issues are divisive. Achieving over 80% of the vote on any issue is not divisive, but rather a clear indication of widespread support. Hopefully we will not have any judge or court be divisive and try to force their personal opinions on the populace who are clearly and convincing united on the issue regardless of race, sex, region, party or any other description.
