Re: “Mise en scene: 100 things that defined Memphis theater in the Aughts. Part one. doesn't matter. I went to Los Angeles with three scripts that were better than good, affordable and doable. I got a nice condo on Wilshire blvd. and a Austin Bugeyed Sprite that I would loan-out. I got no nibbles from anyone in film. Except "Coke Crowds" who ran Home Owners Associations wondering if my fake sometimes english accent made me english enough to break the Pacific naval blockade long enough for them to score powder....otherwise they wasn't saying crap. Therefore they weren't really DOING anything worth a crap. Which just made the whole idea of "Goin' Out West" a waste of any time I'd spent in life doing ANY theatre. In memphis or THERE you go; and here I still am.
