I would like to think that police would be able to focus more of their efforts on real crime when marijuana is legalized. However, solving a murder or rape does not pay for police to keep their jobs. Therefor, a number of jobs will be lost in law enforcement. Prison systems, especially private, are a racket whose main revenue is marijuana related crimes. I think the answer is to legalize and those who lost their law enforcement jobs can work in the new hemp plantations, distribution warehouses, or stores that will soon be available.
