This afternoon s Black History Month Films series feature at the National Civil Rights Museum is Sankofa, the story of an African-American woman's spiritual journey to slavery and her African identity. The University of Memphis Tigers are playing Houston at The Pyramid today; feel free to take this day as the perfect opportunity to cancel your subscription to Esquire magazine in response to the March issue s totally unfounded and based-on-nothing slap-in-the-face article about Coach John Calipari. Or, better yet, shred the article and throw handfuls of it into the air every time we score. Linkin ParkLoretta Lynn is at the Isle of Capri Casino. The Emily Patterson Band is at the Full Moon Club upstairs from Zinnie s East. Carlos Ecos is at the Blue Monkey. Back at Newby s, there s music by Yamagata. And last but certainly not least, back at the Lounge tonight there s a special show by Stray Cats founder Lee Rocker and legendary Elvis guitarist Scotty Moore?. Sounds like quite the ticket.
