Special Election Day for Two Legislative Districts 

Voters go to the polls on Tuesday in special elections to determine which candidates will succeed congressman Steve Cohen in state Senate District 30 and Shelby County commissioner Henri Brooks in state House District 92.

Competing for the Senate seat are state Representative Beverly Marrero, Democrat, and lawyer Larry Parrish, Republican. Vying for the House seat are Democrat G.A. Hardaway and Republican Richard Morton.
