Re: “Burning Questions for the TVA’s Allen Plant

The Point-let's build up ASAP our capacity for clean "replacement" power. Spending all our money on the larger gas plant and on nuclear capacity forestalls movement toward independence from the dirty and the dangerous-fossil and nuclear. Bang for the Buck-we get much more carbon avoidance for the money with efficiency and renewal energy. Memphis has plenty of sunshine-we need new economic development.

Re: “Burning Questions for the TVA’s Allen Plant

Bravo for such a comprehensive article! Memphis press doesn't usually cover issues in such depth.

Re: “Radioactive Rubbish

People are shocked at the news that even low level radioactive is being dumped raw into our household waste landfills. We are being told that Shelby County has no say-so in this matter. Don't you think we should?

Re: “Memphis Cyclists to Attend Shelby Farms Meeting

Good meeting tonight with about 100 in attendance. People expressed desire to have some kind of access NOW from along Walnut Grove from East Yates to Humphrey/Walnut Grove where they can get on a mixed use path across the Wolf River into Shelby Farms. Options being looked at include 8-10 foot sidewalks possibly along either side of Walnut Grove. Bikers and walkers could share going one way on each sidewalk. This is needed by the end of this construction cycle. In the future (2-5 years) there may be other ways like Shady Grove, Humphrey mixed-used path, or a bike bridge slightly North of the I 240 Bridge.
