98.1 radio personalities Drake and Zeke have taken a turkey hostage. The ransom they demand to keep this bird from being Thanksgiving dinner is canned goods for MIFA. The drop-off point is Bittersweet Restaurant in Germantown, where Drake and Zeke and the turkey will make an appearance.

House on Haunted Hill

The last of the Dixon's Third Thursday Fall Film Festival, House on Haunted Hill, the 1959 horror film starring Vincent Price as a millionaire who hosts the most frightful party at his home where seven murders have taken place.

Booksigning by Don Wade

Commercial Appeal sportswriter Don Wade signs his book, Always Alabama, a look at the history and fan culture of University of Alabama football. Drinks and tailgating snacks will be served.

Delta Axis Artist Studio Visit

The Pinch Journal Release Party

Release party for the fall issue of The Pinch Journal, a literary journal produced by the University of Memphis graduate creative writing program. The journal includes poetry, artwork, fiction, and nonfiction work.

The Santaland Diaries

Based on the essay that launched David Sedaris' career, The Santaland Diaries follows the writer's exploits working as one of Santa's elfs at Macy's.

MCA Holiday Bazaar

Memphis College of Art, 6-9 p.m.

Very popular annual sale of jewelry and artwork by MCA students, alumni, faculty, and staff. There will be silent auction, cash bar, and pictures with Santa. The bazaar continues on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees

Pink Palace, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., $5

Opening day of this annual holiday wonderland of Christmas trees and animated characters will be kicked off with an appearance by Santa who'll be arriving at the museum via helicopter at 9 a.m. Runs through December 31st.

Memphis Potters' Guild 26th Annual Christmas Show & Sale

Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sale and show featuring stoneware, earthenware, porcelain works, and more created by members of the Memphis Potters' Guild.

Kathy Mattea

Grammy-winning country artist Kathy Mattea returns to BPACC, where her last show sold out. A rare liberal among her country-music peers, Mattearecently completed training to present Al Gore's slideshow on global warming.
