The MLK Day celebration continues today with a They Cleared the Lane Symposium at Memphis Cook Convention Center, honoring African-American pioneers of the NBA; on hand with be the NBA s first African-American player, Earl Lloyd, along with the first African-American NBA coach, Hall of Famer Al Attles, and many others who made a difference. You can hear live jazz tonight at Java Cabana by The Melvin Rogers Quartet. And it s the new Jam On It Night in the M Bar at Melange, with plenty of disco, funk, and other music.
