Re: “Memphis City Council Duplicity

This issue appears to be a conflict of interest. Ive never understood why elected officials get to vote on their raises and voting on IRV seems to follow suit. Items such as government raises, IRV, issues related to PACS and Super PACS really should be items on public ballots so the people decide and not those who stand to personally gain. Doing it any other way promotes governmental corruption.

Re: “Public Picks Zoo Parking Lot Plan

Chooch Pickard has another plan for more spaces, excellent traffic flow and it doesnt require one inch of zoo encroachment into a public recreational space.

There needs to be another survey that includes his plan, the Lynch/Nolan plan, and Eric Gottliebs modified Z plan. None of three PHD plans were creative enough to be considered a true compromise. The plans were simply mashups of the original hack job map presented years ago.

The parks trees are not to become the new zoo lots decorations and I dont believe that PHD has taken drainage into consideration in their plan as Mr Lynch did for his.

That survey was also poorly constructed and misleading.

I question the survey results and PHDs association with individuals that keep them from being impartial to the MZS.

Re: “Mayor: Greensward Deal Is a 'Win-Win-Win'

More like "Spin spin spin" bc the city has put a one million dollar price tag on the greensward for those who wish to preserve it which is more like extortion than a compromise.

Re: “Mayor: Greensward Deal Is a 'Win-Win-Win'

"uses no city tax dollars, leaving them to be dedicated to core services." Mayor is again misguided. I don't consider 3-4M of taxpayer monies annually to MZS for operations as a "core service".

Re: “Report: New Zoo Lot Would Take an Acre of Greensward

Worth Morgan was surprised at the last minute addendum for tailgating sized parking places at the zoo and said that he would have to research it. Reid Hedgepeth, Chuck Brady and Allen Wade were not which reeks of collusion.
If Worth Morgan wants a second term on the council, he should have this addendum removed from this resolution.

Re: “Zoo Parking Plan Meetings Open to the Public

Will the public comments matter? So far they haven't.

Re: “City's Zoo Parking Plan Gets A 'Nope, Nope, Nope'

The zoo used to claim only needing the GW for 65 days a year so what is the big deal? Now we will have empty tailgating sized parking places for 300 days a year on what was once a beautiful serene public playground. Bait and switch indeed.
