Re: “Construction Kicks Off for Epping Way Section of Wolf River Greenway

Ms Phillips, although I certailnly did appreciate the current info on the new Epping Way ... I Really Appreciated the History on the property Especially the info on Berry Brooks. I have cited often (to many Blank Stares) the incredible wild-game trophy collection that used to be at the Art Center on Union Ave but neither current employees nor anyone at the Pink Palace has heard of it.

Now that you have given me the name "Berry Brooks" you have Also answered Vance Lauderdale's question from 2011:

Thank You for your Great Article!

Re: “School Board Postpones Superintendent Hire but Votes to Jettison Cash; Aitken Survives Similar Test

Definitely time for Dr. Cash to Be Gone from the Memphis and Shelby County School Systems! His double dealings with Jeffrey Hernandez and padding the payroll with his Miami Mafia were simply intolerable and a distraction that nobody needed. If MCS was providing a quality education system (instead of spending $600,000 on obsolete copiers, paying his Security Chief nearly double what the Memphis Police Chief gets, padding the budget with 20 brand new Police ready Dodge Chargers, etc etc etc), we may not have had to jump off the cliff of dissolution. Now, as Ray Bradbury said, it's time to "build our wings on the way down" and learn to fly Post-Haste!

Kudos (and a pair of Kevlar underwear) to Jackson Baker for dogged professional coverage of this VITAL issue and these LENGTHY meetings. Amazing ability to condense a marathon into a sprint. It does seem that there is an intrinsic inefficiency to the proceedings but politics, like human nature, is messy in process.
