The He & She Show at the Hi-Tone

Newlywed Comedy Tour: Portland (Oregon) to Portland (Maine)

Teresa and Doug Wyckoff are newlyweds. They're also comedians currently on tour with the He & She Show: Portland (Oregon) to Portland (Maine). The plan is to do a show in each of the 50 states. The Memphis show, at the Hi-Tone on Saturday, will be their 26th stop.

"We've been together 24/7 since June 27th," Teresa says. "I've noticed he takes a lot longer in the bathroom. I may close the car door a little harder."

But, she adds, "We're lucky. We really are best friends."

For the show, Teresa does a set, Doug does a set, and they have an interactive section during which the couple takes marriage advice from the audience.

"We get up and read their statements, and sometimes it's unexpected," says Teresa. "Sometimes, it's really bad advice." During one show, a man asked for advice said, "I have nothing left to give."

The couple say they've noticed that audiences within certain regions tend to give similar advice (they also laugh at the same jokes). But, a lot of the time it's the standard "always argue naked." Doug says they follow this advice, but professes when he comes home to find Teresa naked he doesn't know if he's in for "fun time or fight time."
