Re: “Playhouse on the Square

We enjoyed this performance. The sets seemed bare at first but as the production progressed it was apparent that they were totally functional and suited to this production.

All of the performances were surprisingly strong. It is difficult to single out any one as being the best although red riding hood, cinderella, the baker's wife and the witch were very strong. The voices of the two princes blended perfectly as did those of the two step sisters. Jack was perfect in character as was the baker.

We are very fond of Sondheim and this productions presented his work very well. We drove down from St Louis for a Memphis weekend of which this performance was a part. All in all we feel that this presentation is well worth your time and money.
