Re: “The Heiress

Good googley moogley! I appreciate the recommendtion, but that picture is of me (Tony Isbell) and Christina Wellfford Scott from the production of THE HEIRESS in 1986!!! In the CURRENT,2014,production, I am the director and Christina is in it, but playing a different role altogether. I have another picture you can use. :-)

Re: “Will Call: Tips & Tidbits for the Theatrically Inclined

I know nothing about the play or the production, and it's probably just me, but that picture for MADHATTED looks incredibly creepy and sinister.

Re: “The Strange Road to “Love Is Strange”

Well hello, Shayne Gray. I played Jerry in THE DELTA. The man in the hotel. Ira is a great guy. This movie sounds wonderful.

Re: “The Art of Worship

If I may add a note: First Congo is where Brian Mott, Tracie Hansom and I produced THAIS, an original script by Jonathan Haugen with the title role written for Tracie. We had plans to try to continue doing shows there, but they sort of fell through. Very happy that others have made a go of it.

Re: “My Kind of Town: "Chicago" is in good (jazz) hands at Theatre Memphis

Chris, is that really the end of your review? It seems truncated, like it stops mid-thought. I'm seeing the show tonight, so I'll hold any other comments till after that.

Re: “An Ostrander mistake? We know who staged "Crazy for You" but who is the choreographer?

Mayfield, the POTS production of STEEL MAGNOLIAS wasn't halted, but Mark Chambers, the man in question, was replaced by a female...if I remember correctly. Also, locally, there is the well remembered (at least by those of us who were around at the time) case of THREEPENNY OPERA at Rhodes that had it's rights pulled the day before opening because the director had been using an unauthorized translation of the script. I think that's correct. Someone who was involved probably has better information. That must have been awful: to have spent all those weeks rehearsing only to be told the day before opening that you could not perform at all....
