Re: “Conference Shopping for Memphis

"The Big East is the place for Memphis and they better hurry. This conference is already THE premier hoops and lacrosse league in the country. Thier football is very underrated and when it matures look out. The picture could fill out like this: reinvite BC to return (they belong in the ACC as much as Utah does), approach Navy, pray for Notre Dame, and go after UCF, Mississippi ST.,ECU, Buffalo, Army, and upgrade Nova to D-1 ball. This beats the selfishly piggish Big Ten (two) to the punch and saves the Big East! This is why I should be the BE commish!"

This post may have summed up Memphis chance of going to any league if they are reconfigured. You have no idea what you are talking about. It is about Money pure and simple and if the Big East does fight back and makes a run at teams it is in order to put a strong enough group of teams together so they can develop a network that is much like the Big 10. We may be one n=knock down away from disbanding, but I highly doubt that they put together a rag tag bunch of teams just to add bodies. That list of teams other then UCF and possibly ECU with their strong following will add anything to the football side. Big East Basketball will continue without adding teams if the football teams break off since basketball teams don't need a separate conference championship like football does. The Big East will never get BC back (both sides have said over their dead bodies). If Notre Dame says no to Big 10 why go to the Big East. Trying to fit those teams in to make a case for Memphis makes no sense either. If that many teams join the Big East, that means that the Big East teams already there are all gone. If they aren't and this is what is left then I want me Uconn team to just go back to 1AA. Lets hope we don't get to the pint of needing you to run things.
