Above Jupiter may be young, but they’re already prepping the release of their second album.

Noah Hand, Graham Burks III, Zariya Scullark, and Desmond Coppin recorded Abscission at Memphis Magnetic Recording studio. It’s a concept record that the group describes as a “Shakespearian-style tragedy that unfolds as the album progresses.” Ahead of their record release show Saturday, November 22 at the Crosstown Green Room, they have dropped their first new music video, “Eleanor.”

ย “This song in particular is about one of the main characters, Eleanor, who is chosen by the king to be his queen,” says the band. “The song is a love song between the two characters that foreshadows the later tragic half of the album.

“The video was shot at the library, which plays into the nostalgic feeling of the music and represents the albumโ€™s concept of storytelling. It was amazing bringing the whole thing to life with the help of Cloud 901 (teen learning lab), with camera work by Amanda Willoughby and Astro Hurt (a longtime friend of ours).

“The new look and sound shows how our style has evolved throughout the last two years and itโ€™s super exciting to see our ideas come to life.โ€
