Delta Ondine

Delta Ondine loves the blues. By day, the Baton Rouge native is Alicia Triche, acclaimed civil rights and refugee lawyer. ” Both blues and refugee law are about easing suffering and transforming experiences of atrocity into salvation through the bold capacity of the human spirit,” she says.

She is also the host of the Delta Ondine Blues Brunch, a three-year running regular show where she plays with a new special guest each week. “The goal of Blues Brunch is to cultivate a modern Delta Blues scene, allowing forexperimental and freely creative expression among the featured artists, to promote diversity, and to allow access to the occasional blues masters who honor our show in a small-venue Memphis setting.”

After years of refining her sound live, she’s recording her debut album at Radio Memphis with Rick Chetter. “Golden Child” is her debut single (Bandcamp link), which combines a slow grind riff with ethereal vocals. The video was shot by Jeff McAdory. “It features a lot of our local music peeps, and a lot of footage of the recording of Golden Child at the Radio Memphis studio.”
