It’s Christmas crunch time. The next week will be a hectic blur of finalizing your work for the year and getting your last-minute shopping done. To get you centered for the holiday rush, we’ve got a mellow take on everyone’s favorite holiday banger, “Jingle Bells.”
Every year, Jeff Hulett’s Small Batch Records curates a Christmas album with songs from Memphis-based and -connected artists. This year, he’s contributing a wistful carol, with this video from Memphis filmmaker and Like You Children’s Film Festival founder Noah Glenn. “This is the 6th installment of our annual Nog series: Lost Nog. The Small Batch family wants to wish you all Happy Holidays! Once again, we traversed far and wide (Seattle to Memphis to parts known and unknown) to pluck gems from the boughs of holly. As always, this compilation is free of charge, but if you wish to donate any funds, we will be contributing these to the Luke White Memorial Fund. Small Batch lost our musical brother earlier this year, and we would like to help honor his legacy by helping out his fellow Memphis musicians. Last year, we raised funds for the Dobbins Family Wellness Fund, and traditionally, Small Batch has donated proceeds to the Jubilee Women’s Center of Seattle. So, Deck the Halls, Jingle the Bells, and continue to live in a Marshmallow World while we Ho Ho Ho our way through the holidays!”
