Six canines walked the aisle this morning in a special Police Patrol Dog School graduation. No word on whether they wore caps and gowns.

Four of the dogs (Jake, Iris, Charlie, and Maxx) will now go to work for the Memphis Police Department (MPD); Hannibal will take a job at the Millington Police Department; and Huey will work across states lines at the Olive Branch Police Department (if only it were this easy for college grads to find jobs).

The four canine officers in Memphis bring the total K-9 unit to 19 dogs and 16 human officers. The MPD utilizes the K-9 unit for apprehension of felony suspects and deterrence of criminal activity.
