Bulldozers this week cleared away the last of the rubble of the old Student Center at the University of Memphis. In a few weeks, crews will begin construction on a new, larger, and considerably more modern university center.
Right now, all that is left is a dirt field, surrounded by a chain link fence and plywood panels. But, if all goes according to plan, the site will soon be occupied by a pretty snazzy-looking building, a joint venture design by Fisher & Arnold, Inc, and Haizlip Studio.
In the meantime, knowing that people like to sit around and watch construction crews in action, the university has thoughtfully provided a pair of live web cams showing the progress. Go here for a peek from one of them.
