Aย total of 550 people passed Science of Beer this year. Make that โ€œpassed through,โ€ as in attended the annual Science of Beer event, held January 16th at the Pink Palace Museum & Mansion.

They learned a thing or two about beer instead of just enjoying how the different brews taste.

โ€œEducational componentsโ€ were blended with the different types of beer available for tasting at the event, says museum events coordinator John Mullikin.

Rhodes College featured a liquid nitrogen ice cream made with beer. And Christian Brothers University measured the COโ‚‚ produced by different types of yeast. โ€œOur whole mission is to inspire discovery,โ€ Mullikin says.

The event featured 24 brewers in the general area and three in the VIP area. And 10 food stations in the general area and four in the VIP room.

Guests voted on their favorite beer and food. Hampline Brewing won favorite beer and Gusโ€™s World Famous Fried Chicken won favorite food.
