We stopped by Grawemeyer's last week for lunch. We ordered from a "soft opening" menu, so nothing set in stone here, but there was plenty to like.
This deli/bakery, on South Main, is in a pretty, airy space and it set the mood right off, and then that mood was amped up to something close to delight when we were told that dishes come with a choice of salad or pastry.

I wanted the salad, but I also wanted the pastry. My coworker kindly agreed to split his pastry and let me choose the nicely done raspberry bar pictured above. (It didn't occur to me order a dessert individually. Cakes and pies by-the-slice as well as cupcakes and pastries, $3.95-$4.95).

I chose the quiche of the day ($8.95), which was spinach and mushroom.

The hotplate of the day ($9.95) was pecan-crusted chicken. It came with sides of lima beans and yams. Specials are served with homemade rolls and honey butter.
There's also a handful of sandwiches, ranging from $4.95 to $7.95, with a number of meats (ham, corn beef, smoked turkey, pastrami, etc.) and cheeses.
Here's the Old Fashion Rag Bologna Sandwich ($4.95), a classic with white bread, mustard, and American cheese.

If you're wondering rag bologna is so named because it comes wrapped in a rag.
