Re: “Club Elvis

It's Elvis week in Memphis,
Elvis Day in Tupelo.
The world looks on in wonder,
At this music centred show.

Elvis whirls on Beale street,
Greets visitors to Tennessee,
Strolls home in Tupelo,
All in Bronze, you see.

Graceland will be home to all,
With Music in the air,
Sadly though for all his fans
Elvis is no longer there.

Re: “Fly on the Wall

On the commercially released B-side of the, "That's All Right", Sun studios record, by Elvis Presley, was an amazing version of "Blue Moon of Kentucky".

That recording is now fetching high prices on Ebay. Elvis's high school friend Ed Leek was lucky enough to get his copy of that record signed by Elvis.
Ed's widow now owns the famous Elvis, "My Happiness" acetate disc. Search the story on Record Collector magazine. Or here: http://irelandtoo.blogspot.com

Re: “The Brooks' Call to Artists in the Name of Elvis

Andy Warhol '8 Elvises' artwork sold for 100 million dollars!
The amount of Elvis related artwork in sculpture and paintings is a growth industry.
I may have a go myself as I do paint and have done Elvis a few times.

We can all dream of a better world now.

Re: “Elvis Lives Here

Time to raise the Elvis Presley International Airport, Memphis, again now that ten years have passed since the idea first surfaced in the Memphis news.

Just imagine the international publicity that would be generated if the idea was taken up by the Memphis City Officials hungry for more tourists to the city.

Re: “Elvis Presley Day Ceremony

Good news about Edison Pena's visit to Graceland Memphis.

He is also to receive the keys to the City of Tupelo, Elvis Presley's birthplace in Mississippi, where there is a fine museum and a life-sized bronze statue of "Elvis at 13" by the gifted sculptor, Michiel Van der Sommen.

Re: “Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock" Fashion Statement

No less than the celebrated composer and musician Leonard Bernstein said, "Elvis Presley was the most important cultural force of the 20th Century."

Now this century too feels his presence, as the famous Elvis Concert opens in the UK and Continental Europe and Ireland.
