Ok, ok I know that I am late, but I just found this article... I have been a member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ for more than 20 years. I am shocked and appaled at this perspective of Bishop Charles E. Blake. I knew Todd Tollbott and I certainly do not think he was trusted enough to represent a credible source. I think you err when you way he was a member long before he was an employee. He may have been a part of the church(read: visiting) just prior to his employment but certainly not long enough to be a known as a long standing member.. This article smacks of sour grapes from a disgruntled employee.. He was known to share information in the street about his co-workers, information that could be perceived as racist, but I have chosen to file those remarks as coming from a person who did not know the culture of the African American Community.. He was in culture shock. Why would he abscond confidential church records and share them with media if he was not out to hurt Bishop Blake? To be so covert as to contact the Flyer, provide records(isn't that a crime?), and provide one on one interviews with the reporter requires premeditated, steady planning. So my question is did Todd get paid for this operation?? If the Flyer doesn't pay sources, obviously somebody paid for this work...
I witnessed the way Todd was treated. He was treated as a son by the Blakes. hey wait a minute, didn't his wife work in the accounting department?? ahhh, I see....
He was truly VIP status at the church and had one of the most important positions in the global ministry of Bishop Blake. This is so sorry that Todd would try to smear Bishop Blake.
Todd, if you are reading this, you know me.. and I wish I could see you to tell you to your face that you are foul for putting this out there like this... foul. But it doesn't matter anyway, because you know that Bishop Charles Blake is the right man for the job.... I can see that whatever happened between you and the church hurt you... but doggone it man, you know just like I do that Bishop Blake is one of the most humble, honest men that you would ever want to meet. you know that. I know you do. So why you gotta do this??
This is wack but he survived the referendum by a landslide so what's your problem now...??
