"... The Armenian Genocide is not an allegation, a personal opinion or a point of view, but rather a widely documented fact supported by an overwhelming body of evidence. The facts are undeniable. As a Senator, I strongly support the Armenian Genocide Resolution, and, as President, I will recognize the Armenian Genocide. For those who aren't aware, there was a genocide that did take place against the Armenian people. It is one of those situations where we have seen a constant denial on the part of the Turkish Government and others that this occurred. It has become a sore spot diplomatically." -- Senator Barrack Obama
And here we are in soulful Memphis, represented by a soulless politician !!!! I'm voting this creep out!
JB, you're right on the second round. My apologies. Congressman Cohen did use the words "I always vote against my personal financial interests." Still, that is a fabulous statement and deserves to be quoted in its full authenticity -- in the Flyer as well as in history books!
As it stands, the quote in your article remains inaccurate and begs a correction.
Cohen fanatics have rushed to this board to rescue his embarrassing performance. Folks, sorry but the man lost his nerve! He snapped! That alone said so much about his character. Then he went on talking about his record and his grades like a nerdy insecure schoolboy while Nikki was sending a compassionate message for change. The best quote of the evening was: "I always vote against my INVESTMENTS!" I find it hilarious -- and gravely fraudulent -- that Jackson Baker (a close friend of Cohen's) took the liberty to change the word to "interests" in order to help him save face. My predicament is, come August 7, Steve goes out like a cry-baby.
Leftwingcracker thank you for the laugh. Darn that was funny!
Precisely -- Tinker raises her funds locally. Cohen goes and gets it from pariah governments and hopes no one in Memphis will notice. Tinker is genuine and compassionate. She is extremely accomplished despite difficult odds. She has had experience in DC, in Congress with Harold Ford, as her campaign manager, as an attorney registered to the DC Bar as well as TN -- She has the better resume, and it is more impressive than Cohen's by a long shot. Cohen has zilch except a few years in Nashville. And he certainly does not have any foreign policy experience. Yet he gladly accepts funds from governments that commit genocide in exchange for helping them cover up the crime. Is this what we want to represent us in DC? Nikki deserves our funds and full support. Not Cohen.
Addendum: "For those who aren't aware, there was a genocide that did take place against the Armenian people. It is one of these situations where we have seen a constant denial on the part of the Turkish government and others that this occurred. It has become a sore spot diplomatically." -- Senator Barack Obama
FYI -- " ... the Armenian Genocide is not an allegation, a personal opinion or a point of view, but rather a widely documented fact supported by an overwhelming body of historical evidence. The facts are undeniable. As a Senator, I strongly support passage of the Armenian Genocide Resolution and, as President, I will recognize the Armenian Genocide" -- Senator Barack Obama
