Marty the contrarian has his memory frozen in time. He is really writing about the Carnival of decades past. I belonged to a group started in 1976 that helped open up the Carnival we called ourselves the "Public Society of Curbi". We left DNA traces all over the walls of the P&H for those interested in verifying our existence.
The opening up lead to the "Krewe" system where anyone can start their on Krewe and participate. By the way check out the Krewes they are not all lily white. I want go into explaining the "Cotton Makers Jubilee" here.
Then comes the Left Wing Cracker thrashing our Memphis institution. I know this guy is a Yankee!
Anyway LWC why don't you start a Bloggers Krewe. I'll vote for you to be King. Do a weenie roast instead of a ball as you cook a mean hot dog!
