Re: “Mid-Season Player Notes: Mike Conley

I wonder how much better Conley's paint production would be if he had a legitimate 3 point shooter sitting on the perimeter like Parker does?

Re: “On Hiatus

Stay gone Chris. Great things seem to happen when you are on a break from the Grizzlies!

Just teasing. Enjoy the music.

Re: “Preseason Starts Tonight

"There's Brandon Rush, who profiles similar to Henry in many ways — swingman with good size, good shot, and seemingly average athleticism who was an elite high school prospect and very good college player at Kansas before becoming a mid-first-round pick."

I agree with what you are saying but I really wish you hadn't put that image in my mind.

Re: “A Rudy Gay Free-Agency Primer

Just curious but how would the Grizzlies negotiate a sign and trade with so many teams under the cap? Isn't the sign and trade a tool for cap heavy teams to acquire free agents and not a tool for teams way under the cap?

Re: “Report: Grizzlies to Sign Marcus Williams

I think the team is improved from last season. Zach Randolph should be a huge improvement over Darrell Arthur and DA off the bench should help him a lot as well. I am somewhat encouraged by Carroll and Young as well.

Thabeet and Marcus Williams leaves me sick to my stomach however. I hope I am wrong.

Re: “Link Roundup

Jughead - You are forgetting that OKC has a large and growing Spanish speaking population. His marketing opportunities are far greater there than in Memphis. He could earn back the money he has to pay his current team much faster in that environment.

This isn't a slap at Memphis when Rubio's camp spreads this rumor. It is a realization of the business side of his life. California (LA and Sacramento), Oklahoma and other cities give Rubio a better financial start outside of basketball. It's not personal. It's business.

Assuming any of this is true of course.

Re: “The Four Paths: Drafting (and Keeping) Ricky Rubio

Sacramento — Conley/Darrell Arthur for the #4

Come on Chris. Surely Conley by himself should be enough for the #4 pick. DA is overpaying.

Besides, Memphis is going to need 2 PG's this season. I have no problem keeping Rubio and Conley and letting them both play. Rubio would be well served to not be thrown into the fire on Day 1 anyway. If it is obvious that Conley can't remain the starter the Grizzlies can always trade him at the trade deadline to a team like Sacramento, Portland or maybe even to an Eastern Conference team like the Knicks.
