Re: “The Antenna Club Redux

From the time I was 14 until 16 years old, The Antenna Club (and yes, I remember and actually went there when it was still called *The Well*!) was the only place where I could get in. Sometimes my big Sis, the infamous notorius beautiful and phantomlike Kitty S., would sneak me in, since she was good pals with Steve, the owner. I saw so many cool bands there, I can't even name them all - The Randy Band was a local one I knew (had a huge crush on Randy!), A Flock of Seagulls, Meat Puppets, and tons of others. Did Alex Chilton solo or with Big Star ever play there?? I know he played with Tav Falco's Panther Burns. My pal Cydne F. used to hang out there together after raiding all the local junk/thrift/second hand stores/shops in Midtown! It might have seemed like a dump to you, but it was the coolest and most ultra hip underground place to a then teenager who was really into punk adn alternative and everything in between. Good crazy times and great Memphis memories...
