I was a manager for Autozone for 13 years. They do discriminate on hiring and in stores. We were told not to hire anyone who was NOT bilingual, even if the other guy was more qualified. At the store level its a favortism game, kiss ass, be a yes man/woman and you will get promoted. The quality of their new managers can be seen by how much attention the District Manager have to give them. Then you will always have the District or Regional Manager who thinks they are the All Mighty. They have policies that they do not strictly enforce, unless they need a reason to get rid of a good, long term employee.
