Is there anything to prevent the Grizzlies from using amnesty on someone like Conley or Gay (so paying their contract in full) and then resigning them for the league minimum in order to free cap space to add another top-tier player?
It seems like if the organization and player had an agreement and trusted each other, this would be a no-brainer. The team would obviously benefit from having someone like Rudy on the books for like a million a year, and room for someone else at or near his salary level. Rudy would have all of his $125 or so and would have a Miami-like super team.
Re: “Postgame Notebook: Grizzlies 92, Spurs 90 — Conley is Clutch, Griz Hit 50”
Do you think the way Hollins seems to prefer Bayless to Allen even in crunch time is a good thing? I think Bayless is developing a tendency to dominate the ball. Tony is visibly frustrated. Do you think it will have any impact on the Grizzlies' ability to sign him again this summer?
