Re: “From the Campaign Trail: Council Candidates Knuckling Down

In Re: "The Watcher":

I do not hate Memphis and am not a "Libertarian" candidate, whatever that means in a nonpartisan race. I am NOT running in a group or on a slate. In fact, I love Memphis and want to restore it to greatness. Have you even bothered to read my platform? Check out my website? Learn anything about my candidacy, for yourself? Or do you prefer to make assumptions based on non-factual hearsay? Because I can assure you that I am backed my numerous organizations, such as the Tennessee Equality Project and the Memphis Poilce Association, and individuals from all backgrounds and political parties and philosophies, because of my dedication to Memphis and my philosophy of people before buildings. Restoring pensions and benefits to our first responders and city employees, saving and restoring the Coliseum, overhauling Memphis Animal Services, starting the Tiny Homes for Homeless Initiative, a belief in Memphis First local preference, and about a dozen more Memphis-centric areas of focus clearly show my dedication to the City of Memphis. Check them out at RightforMemphis.com

Next, Tomasik also just happened by the Patio Pints fundraiser along with Knox and Mayoral candidate Mike Williams, along with Fire Association VP, Joe Norman. This, I believe, goes to show my ability to unite both candidates and individuals who have varying ideas, platforms, and supporters under the Robin is Right for Memphis Campaign as all showed up in support of my candidacy and not a single one campaigned for themselves.

Finally, in regards to Jackson Baker's notation that Kemp Conrad is the "highly favored" candidate in Super District 9, Position 1, there are NO polls or statistics to back up that statement. In fact, based upon popular opinion, online and offline campaign engagement, fundraising success, and the overwhelming climate of outrage and contempt shown for our current council and Kemp himself, that statement is completely false and based purely on the journalistic tendency to believe that the incumbent is always "highly-favored" and Kemp's over-the-top Gatsby-like soirees with big business backing. Remember, just because a candidate doesn't flash their cash, doesn't mean they don't have the financial backing or the support from the majority of voters. Memphis is ready to #CutTheKemp and #VotefortheGal!
