The 42nd Memphis Ostrander Awards will be held Sunday, August 30th at the Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center. The annual gala celebrates excellence in theatre in the greater Memphis area with awards given in multiple categories.

The nominees were announced Thursday, July 9th on the Ostrander Theatre Awards Facebook page. The full list is below.

Awards are given in a wide range of categories including acting, directing, and backstage contributions from college, community, and professional theatre. The awards ceremony includes live performances of musical numbers from six nominees for Outstanding Overall Production.

The highlight of the evening includes a tribute to the Eugart Yerian Lifetime Achievement Award honoree, Dave Landis, the Associate Director at Playhouse on the Square. Read about him here.

Originally referred to as simply the Memphis Theatre Awards, the name was changed in 2001 to the โ€œOstrandersโ€ in honor of beloved local actor Jim Ostrander.
