Another co-founder of xAI — the one who designed the company’s logo — left the company Thursday.
Engineer Toby Pohlen announced he left the company Thursday evening in an X post.
Pohlen is the 7th company co-founder to leave over the past 3 years. Two of those left earlier this month.
The departures have been amicable, as far as the public tweets from the co-founders suggest. The most recent, including Pohlen’s, praise the company, are thankful for their time at xAI, and say they look forward to the next stage in their lives.
However, speculation in the tech press reads them as aligning maneuvers toward SpaceX, xAI’s parent company, going public.
Pohlen shared on X last year the he did, indeed, design the xAI logo. On that post, another xAI engineer, Christopher Stanley, shared a bit of lore about himself, which can only be a reference to The Peabody Hotel in Memphis.
