Mug Shots

The best part of waking up is corruption in (or at least on) your cup. Some enterprising Memphian — could it be this guy? — has turned our scandal-prone city on the bluff into a cottage industry by creating a line of coffee mugs emblazoned with some now infamous comments by embattled Memphis politicians. And let’s face it, greeting the new day with a hilarious bon mot by Edmond Ford beats the heck out of some 20-year-old Far Side cartoon.

The Making of a Menace

Peter Braunstein, the former Women’s Wear Daily columnist accused of arson, burglary, robbery, sexual abuse, and kidnapping, was arrested in Memphis in December 2005 after he fled New York. Braunstein, who stabbed himself in the neck when approached by police, will go on trial later this month…
