As John Fitzpatrick, the “Fitz” of Fitz & the Ultimate Cooking Hookers, tells it, the band came about when he began to visit musicians as they practiced. He’d bring a bit of food or cook up something, and, he says, “a bunch of beers later … ” the idea struck the group that he should cook on stage while they play.
