Grizz Pope
A mysterious plume of smoke rose over Memphis last week, prompting the usual “anybody know what’s happening?” post on Reddit. The actual answer: a fire at the former Refurban Recycling Center. The MEMernet knew better.
“We’ve elected a new Grizzlies Pope,” one commenter wrote.
Not yet, apparently. Another noted the smoke was black. We’ll await white smoke from the FedExForum.

A Texas transplant wondered about Memphis weather last week. Reddit user u/Sarahspry gave them the real-real.

Germantown Fire Department firefighters saved two family dogs last week in a carbon monoxide emergency.
Sassy and Willow’s owners were away as the dangerous gas tripped an alarm. The firefighters gained entry, got the dogs out, and vented the gas.
