Memphis on the internet.
Makes Sense?
Nashville State Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville) hit some cold, hard facts about the state GOP’s new voting map on X last week.
“So, Graceland in Memphis and the Cool Springs Best Buy in Williamson County are in the 9th congressional district bordering Mississippi and Alabama.
“But the Graceland Museum and the Cool Springs Mall are in the 5th congressional district bordering Arkansas, Missouri, & Kentucky.”
He also said:
“Curious when all the Republicans in West Tennessee are going to figure out they gerrymandered themselves too. Diluted their own primary vote. Effectively five GOP congressional primaries will be decided in the Nashville suburbs. Biggest loss of rural power in the state’s history.”

State Sen. Brent Taylor (R-Memphis) announced he’d run for one of the new congressional seats (he didn’t say which one) on the same day the GOP created them.
“I will fight every single day to ensure harmful, soft-on-crime policies never take root in Tennessee just like I systematically dismantled those policies in Memphis,” he said in a Facebook post.
