We have survived 2025 and now find 2026 in view. As we approach the end of the year, many of us like to look ahead and see what to expect from the next. At The Broom Closet, we see an uptick in people wanting readings about what’s coming, and it is something we often encourage people to do. One way to see what the next year may bring is to look at the numerology and its associated tarot card.
The numerology for 2026 adds up to the number 10. If you add 2+0+2+6 you get 10. In numerology, the number 10 is typically not used independently. The digits 1 and 0 are added together, resulting in 1. However, in the realm of tarot, cards with the number 10 have distinct meanings. Numerology and tarot share a profound connection, and the number 10 is fascinating in both realms. While numerologically, 10 is often reduced to 1 (1 + 0), within the tarot, it unfolds a narrative of completion and fresh beginnings.
In numerology and tarot, the number 10 signifies a moment of reflection on the finished journey. It’s not always straightforward, as not every 10-card depicts “joyful” individuals who are content with the outcomes of their expedition. Nevertheless, it is crucial to pause at this juncture, look back over your shoulder, and give yourself a pat. Whether you’re pleased with the results or not, the 10 marks the end of a cycle, akin to reaching the top of a mountain. But as with all mountains, they never end because what went up needs to come down.
There are five tarot cards that have the number 10 on them. Each 10 card deserves its own examination, but we are going to focus on The Wheel card from the major arcana. The major arcana cards typically reflect the overarching themes in our lives. Doing a deep dive into each 10 card would be beneficial, but since we are looking at next year as a collective, we will focus on the broad strokes of what we can expect.

You may rise, you may fall, but remember: The wheel is always in motion, and change is the only constant.
As we step into the new cycle, we may find that the ideas and structures shaping our society begin to take clearer form. This turning of the wheel offers us both opportunity and clarity, inviting us to refine the projects we’ve been nurturing and to finally bring forward the visions we’ve long held in our hearts.
With The Wheel guiding this transition, we may also witness the balancing of karmic debts. Actions set in motion may return to us, reminding us that every choice carries weight and that the turning of fate always brings its lessons home.
The new year will likely be a year of change since we are ending a cycle and beginning a new one. Collectively, this could be a change for the better, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have our personal hardships or setbacks to endure. As The Wheel tells us, life is a mixed bag. When I was learning tarot, I was also taught that The Wheel tarot card, associated with Jupiter, is a card of luck. This brings me hope that 2026 will be a better year for us all, with The Wheel greasing the way for us with its aspect of luck. We always want a little bit of luck on our side when starting something new.
